| Shrnutí: | This book is a survey of the role of design in the protection and development of a cultural diversity still alive in the many productive areas of Italy. The “progetto memore” analysed in the text, is that of an identity continually investigated and rethought; an identity in the making that questions itself against the mutations of the contemporary to restart where modernity has undermined its bases. The book is also about the definition of a design and cultural movement that nowadays involves the discipline in its many fields. Texts and images investigate the different type of approach used when relating to arts and crafts or to the industrial processes and the ways through which it is possible to develop an identity: from working on materials and types to the use of the narrative process, from the re-elaboration of signs to the basic role of visual communication. |
