Description
Summary:What are the themes that comprise Historical Memory, and how can school teachers implement pedagogical guidelines for teaching it in educational settings? The answers to this question are contained in this methodological booklet, which emerged from the research project "EDUCATION, CENTENNIALS, POLITICAL CULTURE, AND UNLEARNING VIOLENCE," conducted by professors and students from the Faculties of Humanities and Arts, Law, and Education at the University of Santiago de Cali. With the support of the USC's General Research Directorate, a strategy was implemented for teaching Historical Memory in public schools in the city of Cali. As a result of this experience, this booklet was created to ensure that this process does not remain an episodic exercise in school intervention. On the contrary, by generating strategies that allow teachers to replicate the experience, they can continue educating future high school graduates under the guidelines of teaching a humane Historical Memory committed to the country's transformation. This methodological primer does not provide magic formulas that, through its implementation alone, will transform teachers into memory educators. However, it is a first step that opens the door to dialogue between higher education institutions and secondary schools.
