| Summary: | The writing of this text is based on the interest in elucidating the place of the subject in the field of science. The first challenge it assumes consists in situating the way in which science and medicine are linked, progressively giving rise to a particular mode of the physician's clinical work. This task requires identifying the type of science alluded to, as well as the type of medicine referred to; namely, that science arising from positivism and that medicine related to its principles. Having said this, what about the medical clinic? From there, the reflection on observation as a technique found within scientific medical practice comes to the surface and configures a particular relationship between medical knowledge, the physician as agent of this discourse and the patient. The aim of this paper is to contribute to the elucidation of the place of the subject in this structure of relationships, to show the relevance and validity of a clinical practice refounded by Freud on principles decentered from positivism. It is a different framework of thought, the psychoanalytic one, which proposes a clinical practice guided by listening to this subjective discomfort not (yet) conquered by nosological language and which entails psychic suffering. |
